About

This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Directions

From CA SR20, take Mendenhall north and follow it to a stop sign. Upper Lake Ranger Station will be on your left there. Turn left onto Elk Mountain Road, aka M1, and follow it past Middle Creek Campground to either Lower Deer Valley Road (16N20) or Upper Deer Valley Road (16N01) and turn right. 16N01 (Upper) is usually in better shape than the other and you should be able to get to the campground with a passenger car if it's not too low. This road runs right through Deer Valley Campground. 16N20 (Lower) is a little rougher but easily passible with high clearance. You will come to a T intersection with 16N01. Turn left for the Campground.
